To feel slightly ripped off by Ikea’s delivery pricing structure

I have been waiting for a particular item at IKEA to come back into stock for weeks. I kept checking (which you can only do by having the item in your basket and trying to check out). Standard delivery is £15. Today I checked again and initially it was showing as still being out of stock but then I suddenly saw that a new option appeared - I could have the item delivered by express delivery for £50!

To be fair to Ikea it may be that this is the premium being charged by the courier company doing the delivery but still...

Awful. I ordered some sofa covers and paid the £15 charge. They sent the wrong ones. Schlepped to the store and the customer service rep re-ordered, the wrong ones were delivered again. The label is incorrect. I will return again when I summon up the strength to visit now they’re open again. I wouldn’t bother if I were you unless your purchase is so unique it’s worth it.

@Sarjest - yes, their customer service is pretty non existent.

I ended up ordering the item but only because that particular item (chest of drawers) is exactly what I need.
