Selling on ebay

I have 'sold' an item on ebay. It is being sold 'for parts' and clearly states that it is not in working order - the initial bid price clearly reflects that.
It is listed as collection in person only. It is a low value item and I don't want the hassle and expense of packaging it properly.

The first buyer has now cancelled their bid when they realised it was collection. The second buyer has been hounding me about packing it up for their courier (3 messages already). However I really don't want to budge on collection.

AIBU to think that if a buyer bids without checking delivery/collection they also may not have taken in that it is 'for parts' and then I will get hassle and issues when they realise that it doesn't actually work? (for info if it did work it would be worth £70+ and the sale price is less than £10 - it just needs someone who likes tinkering)

I have offered to cancel the transaction but the buyer keeps on about couriers/ (I work all week and can't wait around for couriers collection).

Should I contact ebay and get them to sort?

I'd cancel the item. I buy things off Ebay and on occasion if they have stated "collection only", I have asked the seller if I could arrange for a courier. It's not unreasonable to ask beforehand but it's u to leave it until after the fact. They knew the details so it's tough luck on their part.

Its not unreasonable for them to ask before they make a bid, but if you say no then that's that. I also think you're right about the risk of them not having read the listing properly. I have had this exact problem with a buyer, who went on to give me negative feedback saying the item was not as described because it was broken, even though the listing quite clearly said it was not in working order.

You might have better luck on Facebook or gumtree if it’s collection only.
