to think this is inappropriate?

prepared to be told i’m unreasonable here but, i had booked a cleaning company to carry out an end of tenancy. they cancelled and rearranged the date, and called our estate agents directly (i hadn’t given them contact details) to tell them they would carry out the clean tomorrow.

i then received an email from our estate agent to say they had now extended our tenancy by five days and we were to pay the full amount of rent.

we have now been cancelled on again, to which we have been told they will again liaise with our estate agents.

am i wrong to think this is inappropriate without our permission? i’d just like to know if i’m being unreasonable before going back and telling them this, and that i will liaise with them directly.

thank you!

Of course it's wrong if you haven't given them permission to liase With them
How did they know their details?
I'd be complaining to them

Complain, a lot! How bloody cheeky of them all!

they just have asked a neighbour and then googled their number. the rent we need to pay now is £200.

If the contract is with you not the estate agent then they are possibly in breach of gdpr along with breach of contract.

Your agency also cannot extend the tenancy agreement without prior consultation.

The letting agent can't just extend your tenancy! Don't pay them a penny. Get your property cleaned by whatever means then leave when it's done.
