It’s sadly a leftover from printed porn mags.
It had to be a smooth crease to be able to be sold otherwise it was too explicit therefore as porn prevailed it was the new “norm”.
It’s not, vulvas come in all shapes, sizes and colours.
Funnily enough that’s what the NHS said to me at the time

, that usually women and girls came enquiring about that operation because they’d encountered pornography and had an ideal version of a vulva in mind - I must have been the exception as at sixteen I’d never seen another one before (not even a diagram) !! ....
It is oddly something that does get mentioned a bit on TV, social media, maybe I tune into it more because it’s always been a ‘thing’ for me but you do hear eg beef curtains and similar .
That said comments also made about penises . Suppose it goes both ways but a man hasn’t got anything they can have chopped off really, so to speak .
I think the NHS have changed their approach a fair bit since I was sixteen thankfully; GP said they now hand out booklets from eg Brook explaining that larger labia are (usually) entirely normal . Did say even with all that it’s still a rare operation: and if NHS are doing it there’s usually a clinical reason .
It’s a shame Naked Attraction couldn’t focus on body positivity but suppose that’s not the point - you’re literally getting rid of people based on physical attributes .
There was a good programme on a couple of years ago on body issues where a couple of people went out to (I think) Greece and were encouraged to (eventually) swim nude or something, wear body paint etc - that was good.
