Court order contact but ex moving how far is too far for midweek contact?

45-60 mins away so even meeting half way is impossible for 2.5 hrs for tea? I’m not working so Petrol money and traffic my way after schools is going to be hard and ex doesn’t give me anything. Would it be unreasonable to ask him to do the driving if wants to keep midweek? When order was made we lived 15 mins away from each other?

Did the order say you have to drop them off or meet half way? If yes, then you'll probably have to go back to court for change of circumstances.
If no, he collects from school and drops them at yours afterwards, surely?

Absolutely reasonable for him to have to facilitate contact if he’s the one that moved away.
Also, why isn’t he paying CMS? Is it 50:50?

Depending on the age of the child 2 hours in the car of an evening seems tough but doable.

If you court order states you split travel then I'd probably write formal to Ex saying that his move means that travel costs for you to achieve this are too high so he will either need to do the travel or offer him 2.5hrs at some other point - extra on the weekend or built up to extra school holiday days? Make it clear you are offering alternatives to maintain the time and let him take it back to court if he doesn't agree.

If the court order doesn't mention travel - which would probably be unusual for a 5 min journey then I'd just leave him to it as he's moving. Child is still available as always up to him how he deals with it.

And get onto CMS unless his is a self employed money hider....

If he picks up from school they get longer together than if you pick the child up and take them. They also have the option of not going back to his place every time - some weeks, especially in better weather, they could do something locally to you.

I used to have dc from school pick up Wednesday (me) to drop back at school Thursday when I moved 45 mins away. From 5 mins away. All travel was on me..
