A hormonal rant.

So I’ve potentially got a positive test today (very faint) however 7 days before period so either way I am hormonal and pissed off! Majority of the people on mumsnet are lovely. Then there’s the odd few when you post something that has to be a Debbie downer. For instance, On a tww thread you might post your symptoms or a pic of your test with faint line. Then you get one person sharing their negative stories and telling you not to get your hopes up! Umm I’ve had 2 losses in the space of 2 months last year both ectopic if I want to be briefly excited about a potential result I will be! Some peoples negativity really does annoy me. I appreciate however it could end it tears (again) but I am very much prepared for that after the ordeal myself and partner have been through.

Most of you are amazing and supportive so I thank the community for that.

Very sorry for my hormonal and probably unnecessary rant but I don’t have rants often so what better place is there to vent my frustration.

Thank you for listening haha!

Fingers crossed for you - hope everything works out well Flowers

Oh that is annoying, as if you're unaware of the perils of TTC. Even as much as you can prepare for disappointment, it's still going to be disappointing if it doesn't work out. So enjoy the excitement! A positive is a positive.

The thing is people give advice based on their own experiences/personality.

For example, when I was pregnant I really struggled to get excited until after my 12 week scan. That's because, for me, the disappointment of having my hopes built up then crushed would have been worse than missing out on being excited in the first place.

There's no right or wrong, but people will naturally give the advice that they would want or need. Try not to take it personally.

Enjoy your excitement OP. I really hope everything goes well for you Flowers.

Fingers crossed for you! I've found the conception board to be mostly supportive but there are some who are demeaning to anyone who tests early or symptom spots. I had morning sickness at 7dpo and was told that it couldn't be, had a faint positive the next morning and the sickness continued.

Halli2020 · 16/04/2021 00:08

Absolutely @angrypregnantlady with my last even though it was ectopic I had sickness from around that time too. Walked through a shopping centre where there was a stall cooking doughnuts and I couldn’t stand it!

Thanks for everyone’s comments. I think I’m going to have a break from mumsnet. I find it more negative than positive for me at the moment and I know my mental health isn’t in the best place to deal with stupid comments!

Best of luck to you all if you’re ttc of course! And remember everybody is different. Some people just know. I think I just know, because I’m an angry emotional mess too!
