Decorators - help ....

Hi, please help as this is making me anxious.

I am having the outside of my house painted and they are making a right mess.

Splatters all over the path and wall - is this usual? Will they clean up afterwards?!

They were supposed to come this morning and turned up at 4:30 this afternoon and I have just got in from work and they have their bloody radio on outside the lounge window, are using our garage to store all their stuff (they haven’t asked if this is ok and I can’t get to our bikes or the bloody tumble dryer) and are using the kitchen to make tea, which is fine but I actually want to cook tea.

Anyone else hate having workmen in?! 😓

Oh, and my builder told me that all negative Checkatrade reviews can be deleted by the tradesman, leaving only the good ones.

They are painting the outside of my house, they don’t need to come inside the house at 8am on a bank holiday while I am asleep, that’s not unreasonable 🤣🤣

Those pictures are terrible. Our neighbours had the outside of their house painted and they didn’t make any mess at all. We share a drive with them and there wasn’t a single drop of paint on it.

Jeez. Grow up and get them fired. What are you waiting for?

I agree with @Moutarde

The brush strokes on the wall are very iffy and to be questioned. So best get out of bed, pull up your pants and have a serious word with them.

Or maybe, there's still so many 'wait til OH/Father gets home' types that there's still enough 'painter' types that'll take the piss. It's 2021, we dealt with this shit in the last century. Don't blame the painters - if you are unable to deal with this type of thing - plan it for when OH is home.

Just don't play the 'little woman, all alone' as the reason for why you can't deal with painters, etc, plenty of men aren't too good at it either - and if you can't, you can't as we can't all do everything.

Needing sleep or being a 'woman waiting for man' is NOT a good reason.

My partner's a painter and decorator. Get rid of these people asap. They are complete cowboys and will do nothing but damage your property even more than they have already. Good luck op.
