I have a weeks' annual leave and no plans for today. DH is working and I think it's the first time I've been home alone in about 18 months Shock

Had a house viewing yesterday so house and garden are spotless, kids are at school until 4ish and I had food shopping delivered at 7am so don't even need to go to Tesco.

I'm not adverse to going non-essential shop browsing but I don't really need anything and DD will want to go to Primark soon so saving myself until then rather than going through pain of the shopping centre twice!

I am not used to literally having nothing to do...! What shall I do fellow MNetters!?

The dream!

Eat what you want. Have a bath. Get around to doing a job you’ve been meaning to do forever. Get a magazine or book to read with a nice hot drink. Practice a new make up look. Paint your nails. Watch Netflix and eat snacks. Nap.

OolieMacdoolie · 13/04/2021 09:02

Oh what a delicious prospect. Watch a film, read a book, have a really long soak in the bath, bake something... so many possibilities!

Moomoolandmoomooland · 13/04/2021 09:03

Lie in bed and eat my body weight in chocolate.

LeonoraFlorence · 13/04/2021 09:04

This was me yesterday and I ended up in bed all day with a migraine. DH took DDs out with BIL then went back to theirs for a BBQ. I had plans to read and relax but it wasn’t to be Sad.
Hope you have a better day than me!

StealthPolarBear · 13/04/2021 09:05

Exercise?

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 13/04/2021 09:06

See if you can get some pampering done somewhere - a back massage or a facial, though everywhere might be booked up. Bliss if you can!

CycleWoman · 13/04/2021 09:07

Bit of exercise, nice bath, nice lunch, and relax on the sofa.

OMG I’m so jealous! Enjoy!

GCSEmum2024 · 13/04/2021 09:08

Oooh, a facial. I might get a hot flannel and do my own because I think beauticians will be chocka today- I actually got my eyebrows and moustache sorted yesterday.

Reading your suggestions with a cuppa and a yum-yum (actually what they are called but sound like I'm describing a cake to a 2 year old!) ... might dig my bike out and go for a bike ride this afternoon. Bit chilly though Blush

Placemarking for ideas, got a day off booked next week for my birthday, DH will be at work and the kids will be at school, so I get blissful peace and quiet for a few hours.

Can't decide whether to treat myself to a takeaway lunch, or just get something special in the weekly shop.

Shoxfordian · 13/04/2021 09:12

I’ve got a day off on Friday. Getting my nails done then going to the gym for a spa session in the jacuzzi, then having a friend over in the afternoon.
Can’t wait

KM38 · 13/04/2021 09:27

@GCSEmum2024 I always think a day like that would be the dream...and then it happens and I find myself lost for what to do by 10am 🤣🤣

Make something yummy to have for dessert tonight, go a nice walk and pick up a coffee/treat lunch, pampering bath - hair mask, face mask AND leg shave 😮🤣, start a tv show you’ve been wanting to watch, read a book, watch your favourite guilty pleasure move (Father of The Bride or The Parent Trap for me 🙈🤣), orrrr...climb back into bed and sleep as much as you want!!

Also...yes to the yum yum for breakfast 🤣 a fine choice! I honestly thought they were just a local thing to me 🙈 people look at me like an idiot if I ever mention them away from my area 🙈

LavendulaAngustifolia · 13/04/2021 09:30

I'd go for a walk or a jog round the park. Then potter about the garden for a bit, maybe the garden centre if I could be bothered to face the crowds and then read most of the afternoon with a lovely pot of tea.

18 year old me would be most displeased.

JessicaH1 · 13/04/2021 09:33

I would have a bath !!

TheMotherlode · 13/04/2021 09:49

Ooh, I’ve got a day off today too for my birthday. Have had eggs benedict for breakfast, going for a nice (but maybe slightly chilly!) lunch by the river, then off for a wander round John Lewis, and home for tea and cake before collecting DD from nursery.
Enjoy your day off whatever you decide to do OP.

LindaEllen · 13/04/2021 09:57

If it was me .. I'd binge watch a series of Line of Duty (one more series to go until I'm up to date!) and then if there was any spare time, weather permitting, I would sit outside and read my book. Possibly after 3 episodes to break my wonderful day up a little.

I'd also put a casserole or something in the slow cooker so I absolutely didn't have to think about cooking later either, and everyone could just grab a bowl as and when they wanted it.

Chocobo11 · 13/04/2021 09:58

Read all day with a unlimited supply of hot chocolate. I envy you my DC was back to school for 3 weeks and then has been poorly since. I long for a day by myself. 😂
