Is it correct you can travel in the UK from
Today incl driving away within England?

You could do so before today.

Staying overnight at a location outside your home is the new thing, it still needs to be in a household as defined... so you can't go stay with friends unless they meet the reason (ie some sort of appropriate bubble in the law)

Can I go to an air bnb with the kids and my husband?

So long as the air bnb is not a room in someone else's household etc. but a proper distinct place, and you're all in England and staying in England yes.

oh and of course your kids and husband are one household, and don't currently live in 3 different houses etc.
