AIBU to ask, if you have lost weight has it given you more energy?

Just that really!

I have about 3.5st to lose, no sob story- I habitually eat too much. I work out regularly so I'm reasonably fit and overall health is good but I'm not in denial about the negative effect of carrying the extra weight on my joints etc. I have 2 young kids and work so naturally I feel tired but just want to hear from anyone who's lost a similar amount, did it improve your energy levels?

Thanks ❤

I wouldn't say necessarily that it's given me more energy. But that some things now are easier to do so take less energy which then means I have it for other things. If that made sense....

I've lost nearly two stone since the start of the year and I feel much lighter when moving around if that makes sense so I would say yes it has improved my energy levels! Good luck with your weight loss 😊

JackieWeaverFever · 10/04/2021 20:05

Definitely.

When I was 4 stone lighter than I had more energy and less backpain. 😫

hmyh23 · 10/04/2021 20:09

Yes I totally get what you mean! I'm mid 30s and I just feel 100 some days. I think I was ageing well until the past couple of years when it's just all gone to shit. Nappy changes are where I feel it most, hauling my fat arse up and down off the floor 🤣

I’ve lost 7st and I’ve definitely got more energy and sleep better. However mine is probably linked to the fact that been diagnosed with type 2 was the kick up the arse I needed to change my lifestyle. Losing the weight and changing my lifestyle has put my type 2 into remission.

Ive lost 5 lbs of the 3 stone I want to lose, I started two weeks ago, I swim every day.

Just losing the 5 lbs feels better OP, and its going in the right direction. 🌸

I have more energy some days and not others. I have lost just over two stone. What affects my energy levels is more about what I eat. I'm calorie counting and I'm now about 7lbs away but I'm struggling on less calories than I was when bigger and feel lethargic some days. I have no idea what is going on.

hmyh23 · 11/04/2021 09:39

@TrainTraining yeah I can imagine that is tough, the good thing about having a decent chunk to lose is that it's not too painful at first when you have a pretty decent amount of calories. I get 1800 using the James Smith calculator. Well done on what you have done so far 👏👏

Lost 5.5 stones with 2.5 to go. Yes, I find it easier to do country walks at the pace of my family as don’t get so puffed out. I also never realised that my ankles swelled up when I was bigger - now noticeable because they don’t swell up at all.
