AIBU?

To delay the interview?

A vain one (apologies - I know there are more important events ongoing.)

I have a Zoom for my dream job and can pick when to sit it. I passed my first interview so this video call is to meet my potential new manager and validate my right to work documents.

DP thinks I should book it for Monday to get it done ASAP…the sooner I do it, the sooner I might secure the job, right?

However I want to give the best first impression as it’s an important role with a huge pay rise. I look a bit unkempt; after 5 months, my hair is finally being sorted on Wednesday. Would you sit the call immediately or wait until your post-lockdown hair appointment?

YABU = book the interview on Monday
YANBU = book it for Wednesday after the salon visit

Am I being unreasonable?

If there’s genuinely no rush from the company’s perspective, then you should do whatever makes you feel the most confident

Good luck!

If after hair appointment Wednesday is within the window they've given for you.
I'm sure that they aren't too bothered about your hair, and you could make it tidy and presentable if needed - but it's likely to make you feel more confident if its something you're worried about.
Good luck.

Ahhh thank you both! Yes Wednesday is within their timescale, I definitely would feel more confident with fresh hair!

Oh wow, split vote! I shall book the interview for Wednesday, my roots are problematic!
