To think that FB afternoon teas sometimes take the piss?

So, there's a flurry of people in our local areas "cashing in" on the afternoon tea trade.

They'll deliver an afternoon tea for x amount, lovely. Tku just inbox it, make the tea and consume.

Some of them look lovely, with 2 types of home made scones, that look about 2" tall, ittle lovely slices of cakes, a nice selection of sandwiches, those wee pots of jam, clotted cream, sachets of various teas etc.

Now, to the piss takers. Who are trying to sell you a supermarket scone (you know, the flat little hexagon ones), a crappy cheap ham sandwich, a supermarket cupcake and a few chocolate digestives biscuits as afternoon tea!

Or should I just quietly ignore them... (Yes I know that's what I should do really Grin)

You're not wrong. But even the one's that look delicious are extremely over-priced.
We have a lady local to us and they look lovely but are "only £15/18 per person" . I'd want a roast dinner for that.

The concerning thing for me is that everyone and their dog (possibly literally) is doing these now and I’d put money on the majority not having appropriate hygiene certificates and whatnot.

The only ones I’ve bought are from already established restaurants and coffee shops that have started afternoon teas due to Covid.

And yes I totally agree with you some of them are piss poor.

There’s one I’ve seen that’s got pork pie and crisps in a tub. Another is doing rabbit in a Yorkshire.
