To ask why paracetamol caplets are cheaper than paracetamol capsules

They are the same medication surely

Aren't capsules in plastic and caplets just the shape of the pill.

The capsules have an added soluble shell whose cost has to be factored in.

Capsules cost more to make.

It’s what people will pay, paracetamol capsules will cost pence to produce thousands. People will pay more if they believe it works quicker or doesn’t have the powdery taste.

Capsules are enclosed in a plastic-like casing whereas caplets are just oval shaped to make them easier to swallow

A lot more design & manufacturing cost goes into a capsule vs a bog standard caplet.
