To change the password?

I pay for Netflix out of my own money. It's my one luxury comfort in life. I pay for two screens and that's plenty for me... or so I thought.
DH gave the password to his family.

Ever since, I've been constantly blocked from Netflix in the evenings by them using it and only having two screen usage.
AIBU to change the password and not even give it to DH and tell the in-laws I got rid of it? Grin

Do it! That’s really out of order of your dh.

NeverMetANiceOne · 07/04/2021 22:12

Do it! Cheeky buggers can pay for their own Netflix!

HarrietSchulenberg · 07/04/2021 22:13

Hell yeah! Just do it and if they ask, tell them it must have got hacked as it was never working. If they ask for the new password say it's a random generated one and you can't remember it.

freezedriedromance · 07/04/2021 22:13

No point lying to anyone? Just tell them you only pay for two screens and right now you're not getting to use what you're paying for because they're using it....

Dixiechickonhols · 07/04/2021 22:14

Do it without a second thought.

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 07/04/2021 22:15

Sharing a password where you still get to view, fine, sharing a password that results in you not viewing the Netflix you have paid for, not fine.

Change the password now.

Also Netflix is trying to stop this account sharing stuff in the future I believe.

mygenericusername · 07/04/2021 22:15

May I suggest an alternative.

When they ask if you’ve changed the password say yes, I changed it to getyourownnetflixyoufreeloaders.

Gingernaut · 07/04/2021 22:15

Change the password and pay for one screen only.

Cheeky fuckers.

1Morewineplease · 07/04/2021 22:15

Change the password. Tell your IH why, because it means you can't access it otherwise. Tell him that YOU are paying for it.

CombatBarbie · 07/04/2021 22:15

Sod that!! Def change the password and change your username to getyourownyoucheekyfuckers

Hankunamatata · 07/04/2021 22:15

Totally change it

2Rebecca · 07/04/2021 22:16

I'd do it and tell your husband he can give them a subscription for a xmas present if they don't want to buy their own. I think I'd have changed the password the first time this happened

KatherineJaneway · 07/04/2021 22:17

Heck yes. Claim you don't know what is the matter Grin

TimeForTeaAndG · 07/04/2021 22:17

Say if they pay the extra you'll upgrade it to the 4 devices package and then you can all watch.

Also Netflix is trying to stop this account sharing stuff in the future I believe.

I don't know why cos with the lower level packages you don't get HD and ultra HD so it seems bonkers that you'd be paying for extra screens but not using the facility!

bakingdemon · 07/04/2021 22:18

Definitely change it! You're paying for it so you should be able to watch it whenever you want.

Whythesadface · 07/04/2021 22:20

Change it now.
Tell DH it is for his use only.
Next time you won't give him the new password.
Oh and he gets to break the bad news.

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 07/04/2021 22:20

You are clearly not being unreasonable. Change it and don't give your husband the new one. What bloody business does he think he has giving the password to them when he isn't even paying for it?

Chickychoccyegg · 07/04/2021 22:21

I hope you're busy changing the password now, I would've done it the first time I couldn't get on, absolute cheeky fuckers, and that includes your dh!

BashfulClam · 07/04/2021 22:24

I can’t believe you are even asking. You are paying for their Netflix essentially.

ThanksItHasPockets · 07/04/2021 22:24

Do it right now! The CFs are probably in the middle of something. Gives you time to watch an episode of something before you go to bed.

Msgiggles30 · 07/04/2021 22:24

Change it but also make sure you click the option to remove any logged in other devices, it will kick anyone out that has saved the details. Otherwise they will stay logged on even with password change. And yes if they ask just tell the truth that you needed to reset as it wouldn't work and dont have extra screens!

Frownette · 07/04/2021 22:25

It's for you, just do it. Cheeky so and sos...

altlife · 07/04/2021 22:25

Change it and play innocent GrinWink

8lue8ird · 07/04/2021 22:26

Are you fucking kidding? Of course you should change it

JWrecks · 07/04/2021 22:29

How have you not already changed it?!
