To think the tiredness is sometimes overwhelming

I don’t want to put any would be parents off or sound negative but oh my god I’m so tired.

Two year old twins, birthday weekend just gone, one of them poorly with an ear infection & has been up all night. She is clingy and emotional. The other one is permanently snotty, but perfectly fine & enjoying banging pans with wooden spoons.

I’ve just escaped to the toilet for 5 minutes peace.

Sometimes the tiredness is simply overwhelming. I’m just want to have a lay down for a 5 minute nap 😴

Ooh. Sounds tough! I sometimes have a lie in whilst my husband does the parenting. Do you have a partner?

mynameiscalypso · 05/04/2021 15:13

I only have one but yes, totally. The other day I was on a zoom call for work and I actually thought I was going to fall asleep mid-sentence. I have no idea how you cope with twins!

God that sounds hard.
I don’t keep the tiredness a secret though 🤭 it’s hell.

When they get a bit older you retain your sanity. Hang on in there Wink

Pregnant currently with my first and this is something I worry about a lot.

YANBU. I work full time and have a toddler who hates sleep and a primary aged DC. I am beyond exhausted. I tell myself it will get better, not sure I always believe it.

DirtyDancing · 05/04/2021 15:58

Oh god yes. I literally have to go to bed at the same time as my kids sometimes. They are not babies either! I can get completely consumed with tiredness. YANBU!

I do and my DH is brilliant, we share any night time wake up’s, but he’s exhausted as well 😂

YANBU. I have 5 children - DD age 10 followed by 4 boys under the age of 5, including baby twin boys.

I have never been so tired in my life. The boys feed round the clock and yesterday I was hallucinating through lack of sleep.

I've a 6 year old 13 month old and I'm due no 3 tomorrow. 13 month old still wakes at night for milk (cows milk) and I'm planning on bf this one so I'm dreading the oncoming exhaustion. Partner wil be taking over the night wakings and reducing the milk so then we'll hopefully just have new baby keeping us up.
