From the chocolate thread, aibu to be annoyed at people who think that everybody always wants to eat chocolate and cake and unhealthy things all the time, and that the people who dont are being boring and depriving themselves to make themselves sound good?

I genuinely don't have a sweet tooth, I never snack on chocolate or sweets unless I crave it randomly one night. I love savoury foods, but my fave things to snack on are soups, veg and dips, olives etc.
I make a big batch of gazpacho every couple of days and I snack on that through the day, its loaded with veg and spices and I absolutely love it. My fave food in the world without a doubt are tomatoes. In any form. I have tomato juice for breakfast loaded with tobasco and it gets my metabolism going.

I dont eat any of these things just because I feel like I have to but I am so fed up of people telling me to "live a little" because I dont have a desert when I'm out. I have a starter instead(usually something with tomatos of course haha)

I love love love food I always think about it but I am not going to sit and say oooh I've been so naughty I have had so much choc today cos I havent! It's not trying to sound amazing, it's just what I enjoy eating.

YANBU I get what you mean. I find a similar attitude exists towards exercise, in that people assume that people who exercise only do it to stay thin not because they enjoy it. I'm a very keen runner. I do it because I love it, it's a passion and my main hobby. Nothing to do with weight loss or maintaining my weight and it really annoys me when people assume/imply that it is. If I've run a marathon or ultra marathon people ask how many calories I burned! I really don't care, what I care about is if I've run a good marathon time or completed a tough race!

Lucky bitches. I crave chocolate and wine Blush

CirqueDeMorgue · 04/04/2021 23:06

Well I like tomatoes AND chocolate, especially together

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 04/04/2021 23:07

I don't like chocolate and have had none today. I'm also morbidly obese.

Give me a Cornish pasty any day!

AhCheeses · 04/04/2021 23:09

For me it's alcohol.
I don't drink alcohol because I don't like the feeling of being drunk. I don't really understand what I'm supposed to enjoy about it!
I'd rather have a cup of tea.
People assume you're either pregnant, have an alcohol addiction or you're doing some fad abstinence challenge, it can't possibly be that you just choose not to drink.
I was told by DH's uncle that I'm boring because I don't drink 🤷🏼

@MadgeHarvyy

Ironic how your thread about others judging you, has actually just resulted in you judging others, by harping on about how healthy your eating is, whilst saying 'oooh I could never eat so much chocolate. Confused

Nice. Hmm

I do think it's funny to start a thread to let everyone know you don't like chocolate 😆

Goleor · 04/04/2021 23:25

Chocolate gives me the world's worst migraine, so I havent eaten it in years. Not a fan of sugary things in general either. I'd prefer crisps or pretzels, I have a salt addiction 😂😂😂

getyourfreakon · 04/04/2021 23:27

I don't have a sweet tooth. Prefer savoury. But also don't snack. Ever. One meal a day is 9 times out of ten enough for me. Never hungry enough to snack, or randomly fancy one. I do think it must be nice to though!

ViciousJackdaw · 04/04/2021 23:29

You're quite right OP, not everyone likes chocolate. I absolutely love the stuff, I pigged out on it myself today, I ate TWO squares of good quality dark chocolate - none of that Green & Blacks rubbish though. I'm such a fat pig.

I dread to think what that makes me after today then 😆

I'm really not sure to say yabu or yanbu. It was amusing how many people were upset about the lack of Easter eggs in the shops on a previous thread .
Personally I like chocolate but thankfully I have found myself not liking it as much as I used to when I was younger. age appears to be weakening my sweet tooth. That's great for me.
Generally as i have gotten older the less interested I am in food . Especially since the first lock down, everything just seems boring to me. I cook daily as I have dc to feed but if it was just me I would be happy with a sandwich and apple for dinner.
I get what you mean by people expecting you to love what is loved by everybody else in society .
I don't like crisps , tea, coffee, fizzy drinks, alcohol and a lot of people think that's crazy
