I've never had a brilliant memory but this is ridiculous.
Over the last few months I've struggled with quite noticeable memory recall. Things that would usually come to mind quickly, now taking time to formulate. I experience it daily.
For example, I was just trying to remember the most recent series we're binging on. We last watched it a few days ago and we're on series six, so it's dominated the last few weeks. It was like my brain was wading through mud until I got there. It took about 15 seconds.
Earlier I was thinking about when my children had covid in January. I know they had it. They were both very poorly for a week. I remember the facts but it was like my brain was in slo-mo while I tried to recall the detail of day they became unwell and we discussed symptoms, testing, management etc.
I'm 46. No family history of dementia. Maybe it's just pandemic sluggishness and I need to do some brain training exercises. But could it be the statin? I've been on 40mg of Atorvastatin for about six months.
