Tell me your stories of being irrationally irritated.
I have the irrational rage (IR) because I weighed a parcel twice on a good scales which I tested with a tin of beans, and the parcel came in at under 500g. I stuck some stamps on it, rounding up as I only have 1st class.

I checked out the price on the royal mail get a price website. It's going to Germany so came up as requiring 12 stamps.
Sent child and his grandma on a lovely walk to the Post office. They came back and told me the weight was wrong - in fact it was twice what I thought it was so they had to pay more.

Why has this given me such a rage? I went down the post office to ask them nicely to weigh it for me to see, but alas, it's been picked up. I know that my weight was correct because of what was in the parcel, and the package was a standard cardboard box. Not a 500g box. Just a box. Maybe the sellotape was lead lined 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Soothe me with similar stories of minor woe!

I'd be taking my tin of beans disguised to check their scales!

ssd · 31/03/2021 18:30

I'm irritated about my fear of getting ill especially with covid. I feel I'm chasing away family members who need me. I wish i could get drunk but I'm shit at drinking too. So I'm going a walk.

tangerinelollipop · 31/03/2021 18:32

No rage is irrational OP Grin

AdoraBell · 31/03/2021 18:34

DH doesn’t wash the butter dish when he finishes the butter 😡

MrsMaryMystery · 31/03/2021 18:34

I took the beans and my scales! Alas the parcel was gone so now I'm going to eat the beans in a fit of pique.

OP posts:
MrsMaryMystery · 31/03/2021 18:36

Adora your dh shouldn't be finishing the butter. It's ungentlemanly.

A new man at work keeps calling all the women "babe" "sugar" and "Gorgeous" it's giving me the rage but if I complain I will be seen as petty.

MrsMaryMystery · 31/03/2021 18:40

Shuush just call him sugartits back Wink

I have the IR because I was watching videos on my phone in a dark room and using the screen as a backlight for my split ends so that I could snip them off. Fucking scenes keep changing into night time and I actually said in a raised voice "WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS?!"

ImReallyNotYouKnow · 31/03/2021 18:44

I'm irrationally irritated because DH washed all my jumpers when I have repeatedly asked him not to. I know its petty, but I do feel like he doesn't take me seriously as an autonomous human being sometimes.

Ohpulltheotherone · 31/03/2021 18:48

@ImReallyNotYouKnow

That’s very irritating. I’ve asked my DP a couple of times to leave the washing in the machine and not put into the dryer because he doesn’t take the items out which can’t go in the dryer.
Namely MY nice jumpers and leggings and sports bras etc.
On the third time of finding my delicates in the dryer I told him straight to JUST FUCKING STOP IT

He’s not obnoxious just a bubble head. Honestly pigeons learn faster

ImReallyNotYouKnow · 31/03/2021 18:51

My DH is not obnoxious either, but he just seems to not take me very seriously at points. If I had washed his car when he repeatedly asked me not to he would be furious, but somehow in his head it's different the other way round. I'm actually really upset, which is completely irrational I know.

therocinante · 31/03/2021 18:55

I have the irrational rage because the washing up (which is my job) has not been done. By me.

Oh, and because next door, who only moved in a couple of weeks ago, always completely avoids talking to me. I put a card through when they moved in welcoming them and giving my number in case of any issues (terraces with paper thin walls) and I bring their bin in every week, but every time I see her she's a face like a slapped arse and she pretends not to see me. Took a parcel round a week or so ago that had been given to us while she was out, and she opened the door, went "Oh.", took it and shut the door fast as she could. Rude. Feel like putting another card through saying WE CAN HEAR YOU SHAGGING, HELEN, EVERY SINGLE FILTHY WORD YOU SAY. AT 3AM.

Wurrg · 31/03/2021 19:04

There is fucking dog poo fucking everywhere, people are fucking lazy selfish gits, we went on at fucking walk AGAIN and DS whinged every three seconds and insisted on walking on the verges where 85% of the fucking dog poo is, I ended up really shouting at him for whining so much😭😭😭 He got a fright, we both cried 😭 He's 8 and just pushed ALL my buttons but if I wasn't feeling horrendous (in a lot of pain with various things right now) I wouldn't have done that and I feel so guilty FUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKK

PradaBallbag · 31/03/2021 19:05

I love this thread today. I have irrational rage about absolutely everything today. But mostly my husband who is ALWAYS FUCKING THERE every time I turn around.

Tonight he says he has to work late. (We both WFH). That's fine, crack on love, I'll go and chill. But oh no - he decides it would be nice for me if he sat beside me on the sofa with his laptop while I watch tv. NO! FUCK OFF! Why would I want you listen to you tap tap tapping away and sighing heavily at every issue you encounter (and then mansplaining why your colleagues are dickheads) when I'm trying to chill?! 😡

SuddenArborealStop · 31/03/2021 19:11

I was raging at DS who quite literally wanted to have his cake and eat it too, he's 3 that should be hilarious to me but it was the 50th similar argument this week and I'm tired.

Staffy1 · 31/03/2021 19:11

I have IR that every evening DH pulls the bathroom blinds down just below the window sill so that are at slight angle, instead of just above it, so they sit straight. Every evening I pull them up a bit to the right place, but he never gets the message and I can't be bothered to ask yet another thing that I will have to ask three times before he starts doing it the right way (that is, my way).

YouBringLightInToADarkPlace · 31/03/2021 19:21

We put an offer in on a house today and haven't heard anything yet. Absolutely raging even though it's completely unrealistic to expect to have heard anything this soon.

Knitterbabe · 31/03/2021 19:31

Whatever task I’m doing, DH suggests a different tool, or a better method,
I’m working in the garden; ‘That would be easier with the rake, shall I get it for you?’ No
‘Shall I bring some bigger pots?’ No
‘Secateurs would be better.. shall..’ NO
I no longer attempt to load the dishwasher properly, as however I do it it’s wrong.
I managed everything on my own for years while he worked away for long stretches; retirement is difficult!

Knitterbabe · 31/03/2021 19:32

@PradaBallbag
@Staffy1
I hear you. I feel your pain.

thistimelastweek · 31/03/2021 19:35

Took my 3 year old grandson to the park today where he met another small child. Each took fun in stamping their feet. No aggression just clumsy stamping.
Other kid's mum told my grandchild, 'watch out for kicking feet '. She wasn't savage but I felt irrationally irritated.

Held my tongue but wanted to say HE WASN'T KICKING!

I know - Granny needs perspective.

Sexnotgender · 31/03/2021 20:16

Went to change my name on my bank account today. Telephone banking said take passport/driving license in.

I also took my old passport so they had both names as id.

Guy in branch said I also needed my marriage certificate despite telephony making no mention of this. Apparently they have ‘different procedures’. So tell your fucking customers that!!

I’m 9 months pregnant and made a special trip to sort this out🤬

LadyFidgetAndHerHandbag · 31/03/2021 20:17

I felt rage towards my husband today for the way he gave the cats some treats. When I do it I roll them away so the cats have to hunt and find them, he just puts them under their noses. Every time he does it I have to bite my tongue.

MrsMaryMystery · 31/03/2021 21:34

Yes, yes these are all excellent examples of IR. Many are examples of rational rage!

squeakyheart · 31/03/2021 21:58

I'm irrationally angry as I was thinking of something the other day that really winds me up and now I can't remember it for this thread arggggg!
