Off school again - light-hearted

Dear lord. Just got back after all months of lockdowns and then missed first week due to testing. And they are off AGAIN for Easter

At least hopefully for Easter you can all spend some time outside!

But the months of lockdowns weren't 'off school' - they were home learning which became incredibly pressured and stressful for pretty much everyone involved.

Being off over Easter is very different - no schoolwork, no pressures, just fun!

Well I've worked constantly since the start of the lockdown in person in school so would have been very annoyed if this years easter had been cancelled like last year's was. We manned the hub school.thoigh Easter and May half term 2020.

My y11 dd has worked her socks off online too so deserves her break too.

It was, as people have said, the trying to sit them down and get them to learn / do all the stuff the school was setting, at the same time as holding down a full time job that was stressful!

It wasn’t their mere presence - I’m very happy with that.

No forcing them to work over the hols, and no working myself in the second week so we can have fun together!
