What is the point of these? Don't they get dirty and mucky? Do people keep them inside? Do I unwittingly need one in my life?

I had a fantastic IKEA one that lasted 10 years - it was polypropylene I think

Sat the furniture and the fire pit on it and it looked like an outdoor 'room' for £70

Covered over the really quite horrid patio

I would definitely get one again

LaurieFairyCake · 30/03/2021 16:52

I hoovered mine BlushGrin

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 30/03/2021 16:57

At the beach house we use them (outside at the doors) to keep the floors inside a little bit drier & free of sand.

On the deck (to protect the wood from food/drink spills staining & to catch drips from food on the BBQ)

One by the pool, it's quite grippy &
Stops slipping.

One by the pool slide as it's nicer to stand on than soggy grass.

That’s funny, I’m just out with DH and he’s morning about the stupid bleeding rug, our chairs catch on it and he has no patience.

Doesn’t get mucky really, they’re usually a woven plastic material.

It hides our unsightly patio and I have matching cushions and I think it looks blooming loverly so you and DH ABVU! 😛

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 30/03/2021 16:58

Yeah they get dirty, but very easy to hose clean

MrsHookey · 30/03/2021 23:52

I think I need a beach house now, as well as an outdoor rug :)

Thanks all!

I have never heard of an outdoor rug.

Where do I get one from? I can see the attraction!!

samandpoppysmummy · 31/03/2021 23:26

I have three and I love them. I like the 'indoors/outdoors' look and think of my patio as a continuation of my living space. The rugs make it feel 'cosier'.

Mrsjayy · 31/03/2021 23:33

I remember in the 70s and 80s my gran used to take inside rugs outside for us to sit on all the neighbours did , I didn't know you could get them to stay outside id love one my garden is so bland.

Tangledtresses · 31/03/2021 23:48

We use one outside the camper van

LibertyMole · 31/03/2021 23:49

I am going to get some to cover the vile decking.

nancy75 · 31/03/2021 23:51

Hides the ugly patio & stops the horrible scraping sound the chairs make on the ugly patio

fallfallfall · 31/03/2021 23:54

the one i have by the front door catches the sand and pebbles from spreading into and throughout the house. yes it gets a good shake and vacuum.

RagzReturnsRebooted · 31/03/2021 23:54

OK now I need one of these! I have an ugly patio.

AfternoonToffee · 31/03/2021 23:55

Where I could put one I have firs, I would be forever trying to pick out pine needles, so would look.nice for like the first five minutes.

Mrsjayy · 01/04/2021 08:44

I spent ages last night researching these I've picked loads I love, DH is quite traditional .carpet outside will blow his mind but I am hoping to convince him Grin

MatildaTheCat · 01/04/2021 09:21

Friend has one on the sun deck of the boat she lives on but that’s quite niche!

MrsHookey · 01/04/2021 09:37

You're all making me get one now.

MrsHookey · 01/04/2021 09:38

The minute I buy it, it will start to rain and keep going :)

I got one from La Redoute. It's fab. The dog will poo on it though

FlatteredFool · 01/04/2021 13:20

I have ugly gravel and now want an outdoor rug. Can anyone provide links please?

angieloumc · 01/04/2021 14:12

I've got one outside both doors, I just vacuum them with the stick attachment thing. They really do help with getting gravel etc off. I'm a no shoes person in the house but then the indoor doormats stay cleaner too.

I think all posters here are being unreasonable for not posting pics

Indecisiveragazza · 02/04/2021 23:49
