To ask if you can block and delete a number

Got someone who's currently up and down with their mental health. They come and go. Sulk and go grumpy.

This morning they announced in a text they were blocking my number. This person usually comes back and goes again as I say. But has never blocked my number before for real so far although has threatened.

If he blocks my number can he delete it? Or will he still have my number for when he calms down to unblock? How does it work. He's a nightmare to us all but we try help him and be there and not take it personally. Not sure how it works as I've never used this option.

If he blocks you he can unblock very easily, and will still have your number unless he deletes it.

If he doesn't delete it out of his contacts then he can unblock but if he deletes you from his contacts, and doesn't know your number then I don't think he can get in contact then.

Not sure if you would still appear in his call history if he keeps that...?

Thank you. He's very fragile at the moment and lashing out. He's got a history of suicide attempts and really bad depression. He's always ok in the end but he pushes his family away. He just text me this morning and said you are now blocked. I tried to help him and he didn't like my advice. He usually comes back in some way. Maybe he won't bother this time. But ive shut my Facebook down for a break from him so if he needs me it would need to be through the phone. I'm just feeling guilty and worried he won't be able to contact me.

I blocked a mobile number at the weekend (scam call). I can still see it in my recent contacts but they won’t be able to call me again.
