Hello.
I had this in December and took myself off to hospital. It helped me to be told it was anxiety, and that someone was listening to me and ruling out something serious.
I don't really know what to suggest but I hope you feel better soon.

Chocolateicelolly · 29/03/2021 22:08

Thank you I did the same a few months back and they run all the tests and said it's anxiety but it bloody hurts, I hope your feeling better and you don't have to suffer it again xx

Could be also gallstones

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 29/03/2021 22:15

Breathing exercises? Breathe slowly in for 4 seconds and out for 6 (8 if you can)

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 29/03/2021 22:16

oops sorry it wasn't letting me post earlier...was about to say, my doctors has a message on the auto response thing that says 'if you have chest pain, please hang up and call 999'

Big deep breaths OP.

I have the same issue from time to time. I went to my GP and they prescribed Propranolol that I can take as and when I feel anxiety creeping in rather than on a regular basis. It works for me so might be worth a try?

Thankyou for your replies, still in a lot of pain but I'm pretty sure it's stress/ anxiety rather than anything else x

50mg of sertraline. I had the same and it disappeared overnight. Had a couple of weeks of nausea and headaches but I've never felt better.
BigWolfLittleWolf · 30/03/2021 18:12

I had this on and off for years.
Sometimes severely enough to warrant an ambulance.
EEGs and things always normal.

I have generalised anxiety disorder so ‘anxiety’ as a diagnosis made sense, although my anxiety meant I was never satisfied with this and was always convinced I had a problem with my heart.

It was actually gallstones, I ended up in hospital with acute pancreatitis in the end (as a result of a stone lodging)

I’m still severely anxious but haven’t had any heart pain since.

So in short, I wouldn’t discount the possibility of it being something other than anxiety.

TheVanguardSix · 30/03/2021 18:21

How are you, OP?

I had this and ended up with a torn artery (SCAD). I don’t know how old you are, but if you are peri-menopausal/menopausal or pregnant/postpartum with chest pain, get this checked out at A&E and make sure they do an ECG and measure your tropinins. SCAD tends to strike women almost exclusively (the occasional male may have one but rarely) and particularly women whose bodies are in the midst of a hormonal flux.

I have low cholesterol, don’t drink or smoke, exercise daily yet I ended up with SCAD/heart attack.

Chocolateicelolly · 31/03/2021 09:03

Thank you for your replies it's still quite painful but on and off now I think I'll call the doctor today just to be on the safe side xx
