School sickness policy - 48 hours off

My son had an upset stomach at school today and was sent home, policy being 48 hours from the last episode before returning to school. I'm certain it was a one off and he is absolutely fine now. My OH & I are off on leave with plans to go to the beach tomorrow - is it wrong/unreasonable to take my son with us when we go for a walk on the beach given he's been told he can't be in school but is otherwise fine? What would you do?

No the 48 hour rule is there for a reason.

take him with you if he's fine.

RetroCatapillar · 29/03/2021 18:57

Agree and I wouldn't send him to school as we've been asked not too, but the question is weather it is unreasonable to take him with us given that he is otherwise completely fine

I don’t see how he’d pass it on. I’d take him.

AuntieDolly · 29/03/2021 18:58

I would

Ponoka7 · 29/03/2021 18:58

It's fine for him to be outdoors if he is well. With social distancing even if it was a bug it wouldn't be passed on.

MrsHusky · 29/03/2021 18:59

spot who didn't read the actual question Grin

RetroCatapillar · 29/03/2021 18:59

@MrsHusky 😂🙊

I'm sure it's fine since he won't be touching things on a beach that others will then touch and transfer any germs.

welshweasel · 29/03/2021 19:09

Yes it’s totally fine. Have fun!

RetroCatapillar · 29/03/2021 19:10

Thanks guys- I guess I was more concerned about him not being at school and taking him to the beach - feels a bit naughty even though it's school policy haha

Watch him over night - some kids start Covid with upset stomachs.

shouldistop · 29/03/2021 19:11

Of course it's fine for him to go to the beach if he's feeling ok.

itsgettingwierd · 29/03/2021 19:21

I'd just take wipes etc for if he touches public toilets etc - so you can wipe them down.

But usually upset stomach is short lived and the upset bit is the bugs coming out of it's a one off.
