to ask what Matalan clothes are like?

I've been searching on-line to find joggers, spent way too much time on it, had to return some that I ordered.
Zillions of ads for joggers now popping up all over the place - including exactly what I was looking for from Matalan; they seem very cheap though - has anyone had clothes from there?
I read their ethical policies on anti slavery and sourcing cotton; they seem OK, just wanted to see others opinion of their clothes before ordering.

They can be great. I’ve had a jumper from there for 5 years, washes beautifully, hasn’t bobbled, holds its shape well. Also a £10 pair of jeans that’s brilliant, fits a dream, had quite a few random compliments about them on, and I also have some pjs from there that I love.

Worth a go!

I ordered approx 30 items a week ago and I've already received more than half of them. They stated v clearly that they'd dispatched the order as soon as bits of it were ready.

I actually like the quality. The majority of things are great, cheaper than tesco, better/same quality as Next for some items (and cheaper!). I love their summer vest tops/camisole tops.

90% of my wardrobe is matalan. Rest is supermarket. Last for years.

I've started to buy from there the last few years as friend recommended it.

So far very impressed and yet to be disappointed!

Their vest tops are great, super long (I'm quite tall), I have about 20 of them, they wash really well. Not bought much else from them though.

Surprisingly good. I ordered a few pairs of shorts/knee length jean shorts not really expecting them to be any good because they were only around £7 and they were great, fitted really well and looked nice. I returned all the Next shorts that I ordered. Will definitely try this shop again but don't know if I was just lucky on this occasion.

I live in a town.

We didn't have a matalan until a few years ago but there was a large one in the city.

Now we have one in our town it's much more accessible so I go there.

Thanks everyone - shame that they don't score higher on the goodonyou site -but my usual "go to" Uniqlo don't do brilliantly either. My main concern was not buying something that's only going to last a short time - from a green perspective rather than £.
For a really cheap pair of joggers, with an additional 20% off this weekend, as regular customers are saying stuff lasts well, seems I can't go wrong. My current pair have got holes in the legs - no idea how or why, but I've had them for six or seven years.
I live in central London, so don't really have a "High Street" as such - so was aware of them, and think I used to work near one about twenty years ago, but never really on my radar as somewhere to buy from.

Go on their Facebook page and read some of the comments. Lots of people having trouble with receiving items, refunds and customer service has been rubbish... if you are ordering it for delivery anyway.

Normally I would say they are good and they are in store. It’s all gone a bit haywire on lockdown

Stuff tends to be quite roomy. Plenty of ease.

Love their vest tops, accessories and homewares.

I had a really odd experience with them last summer though regarding pick up from the store. It wasn't a problem (was quite funny) but it was all a bit Fawlty Towers.

I've got short fitted jumpers from Matalan in every colour they did. I bought them about 8 years ago and now I've gone blubbery post menopause and lockdown have handed them all to DD. Still going strong.

thanks everyone - parcel arrived, just under a week, so thankfully none of the horror stories over deliveries, clothes seem fine (ordered a couple of other things too).

I ordered through Matalan, it arrived ok but returns are dreadful, over a month of emails chasing them up. Take back to store when opened if anyone is wanting a refund.

If you stood next to a naked flame whilst wearing them you’d probably explode. So much polyester and synthetic fabric,

Good quality BUT I wouldn't order online - their delivery service is shocking.

The poor quality in the kids has put me off. Their girls leggings have tiny waists - my regular 4 year old can't wear them.

I bought a jumper in M and S for Xmas (£80 and turned out to be so itchy, I couldnt wear it). Then I saw a similar one in Matalan for £15! It is lovely and soft, washes well and I have received loads of compliments on it.
I'm impressed.

I’ve only ever bought their kids stuff, it’s excellent. All good quality, similar to the better supermarket stuff. Their costume clothing is v good. Never had a problem with delivery.

I would also recommend H and M.
