Partner sleep talking

loveoverflowing · 27/03/2021 14:27

Aibu to be upset that partner last night , like most nights was sleep talking and at one stage said ...' Sister , Mmmm..' in what I thought was a sexual way or at least admiring way .
He often talks mnonsense, sometimes about work , but this was the first time he said something like that.
I've no reason to distrust him.

He was dreaming, it means nothing

HeartShapedBox · 27/03/2021 14:33

Sister as in nurse or nun, maybe?

loveoverflowing · 27/03/2021 14:34

Really don't think it would be nurse or nun . It was an admiring ' Mmmmm...'

Honestly, you can't possibly be annoyed, he was fast asleep!
I am (apparently) a sleep talker also, and last night shouted "YOU CANT TAKE THE SABERS OFF THE MOTHERSHIP"
My other half shit himself.....I have zero recollection of either saying this or of the dream.

Happycat1212 · 27/03/2021 14:39

Maybe it was about your sister rather than his own??

SchrodingersImmigrant · 27/03/2021 14:39

Massively yabu. People dream about weird stuff. Prople sleep talk about weird stuff

SchrodingersImmigrant · 27/03/2021 14:39

@toomanyplants 😂😂

HeartShapedBox · 27/03/2021 14:40

I was meaning more "naughty nurse" anne summers type of thing than actual nurses or nuns 🙂
happinessischocolate · 27/03/2021 14:43

I think @toomanyplants sums it up. 😂I sleep talk and you really can't take any notice of what someone says in their sleep. I'm not sure what's funnier toomanyplants and her light sabres or you thinking the mmmm noise made by a sleep talker is sexual.

loveoverflowing · 27/03/2021 14:55

But I know the context he says that word which is why I thought it was sexual. So glad I asked, as silly as I sound . I didn't say anything to him . Great to think aibu thanks

I sleep talk, have done since I was a toddlerBlush I say random unrelated things, like a crazy stream of consciousness. YABVU.

Stichintime · 27/03/2021 15:08

Leave the poor fella alone and let him enjoy his dreams.

Catlitter1 · 27/03/2021 15:20

Apparently I sleep talk, are you sure he said ‘sister’? My dp often wakes up when I start but says a lot is nonsense and not proper words, more of a mumble.

FFSAllTheGoodOnesArereadyTaken · 27/03/2021 15:20

I have had sexual dreams about most of the people I work with, men and women. Including the ones I actively dislike or find physically repulsive. Do I want to sleep with them? No. Does it mean anything? No. Would I be pissed off if i got questioned on anything I'd said while dreaming something I'd never remotely consider in real life? Yes, I'd be angry and embarrassed

FFSAllTheGoodOnesArereadyTaken · 27/03/2021 15:21

And even if it was some weird dream avohr his sister and it was an admiring 'mmm'...you know this doesn't actually mean he wants to sleep with his sister, right!?

FFSAllTheGoodOnesArereadyTaken · 27/03/2021 15:21

*about

CoffeeBeansGalore · 27/03/2021 15:25

I once sat up in my sleep and told my husband to leave my tennis racket alone. I don't own a tennis racket or play tennis 😄

CorianderBee · 27/03/2021 15:43

Do you never have weird dreams? I've dreamt about loads of people who were my 'siblings' in my dreams but aren't in real life. Last night my dream involved tiger-people and glowing lillies...

It could have just been a noise, he could have dreamt he was a Mormon or Muslim who call lots of women in their faith 'sister'.

You can't suddenly decide he's incestuous because he said something random in his sleep.

CorianderBee · 27/03/2021 15:45

Oh and there were Russian spies in my castles basement. I don't have a basement... or a castle.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 27/03/2021 15:53

Be happy it's just sleep talking. I sleepwalked as a kid and apparemtly I regularly walked into my parent's bedroom, pissed into their bin and just went back to my bed. 😂

Count your blessings😂

sweeneytoddsrazor · 27/03/2021 16:09

I once had a dream where I walked over a bridge and somebody possibly a troll was going to open the bridge to tip me in the water. I persuaded them to do it to my sister instead, she then washed up on the river bank, the size of a Teddy and we wrung her out and dried her off. I really have no evil intentions towards her love her to bits and I was far too old to have been scared by the Billy goats gruff story so no idea why I had this dream.

TripleSeptic · 27/03/2021 16:19

I said FUCK ME, so loud in my sleep I woke myself up. I my dream my husband was driving a new car and I was in the passenger seat. I thought he was driving too close to the car in front, it braked, and I couldn't believe we didn't hit it. Even the most suspicious sleep talk can have a reasonable excuse, I'd find it hard to accuse someone who is sleeping. You can't police their nocturnal ramblings!

MonkeyNotOrgangrinder · 27/03/2021 16:22

Definitely 'mmm sister' and not 'ooh matron' in a Kenneth Williams voice?
