I’ve been wanting to write a thread like this for a while now and have been prompted by the R2 thread.
Radio 1, arghhh! I know they changed the demographic years ago to teens and early 20’s but bloody hell it really shows nowadays.
This week I’ve switched over everyday to R2 (and have actually enjoyed Jeremy Vine 
)
I know everyone hated him but I used to LOVE Chris Moyles on R1. Chris Moyles in the morning and then Scott Mills in the afternoon. I still love Scott Mills and Chris Stark but even they’ve become more boring and ‘dumbed down’ lately.
Greg James can sometimes be okay but most of his show seems to be aimed at 5 year olds with really not very funny segments and he’s so bloody GUSHY about everything.
In fact, ALL the R1 presenters have become overly gushy in the last couple of years. They love EVERYONE and it’s all gush, gush, gush.
I miss Trevor Nelson and Dave Pearce at the weekends.
Clara Amfo is okay, I really enjoy the live lounges but her show can be a bit boring sometimes.
Scott and Chris I do love, but their segments have become less funny, especially over the last year. Granny Tinder is getting old now 
I miss the Ghosting segment.
Nick Grimshaw is a bit like Greg James, okay sometimes.
The Weekend DJ’s are just absolutely dire. Matt and Molly....just, no. Molly has to be one of the most unnatural people I’ve heard on the radio. They’re not funny, they try far too hard. Just no.
Jordan North....arghhh, I find him the most intensely irritating, try hard ‘let’s shoe horn the fact that I’m nervous into every single piece’ DJ. I DON’T CARE WHAT YOUR MAM USED TO MAKE YOU FOR LUNCH AS A CHILD!
That awful Ricky, Melvin and Charlie...I mean, can they string a sentence together between them?! Complete chavs.
And breathe. Anyone else feel similar?
