Just that really.

I see flared jeans are creeping back lately too.
Karate chopping cushions can piss right off aswell.

Instagram? The fluffy heads do look pretty!

I'm sure we were always told pampas was a secret sign of swingers trying to attract other swingers...

I was going to suggest maybe there has been an upturn in swinging during lockdown. Perhaps support bubbles are not what they seem?
ApplestheHare · 27/03/2021 05:31

Support bubbles with benefits could explain why cases haven't dropped as much as predicted Grin

Anyscrapiron · 27/03/2021 05:35

I love a good pampas grass, I used to chop my fingers in half messing with the big bushes outside my parents front door when I was a kid. It's all bloody slabs now. So sad looking. Bring back the pampas I say!

.....then again, I've also brought a pair of flares for summer.

I'm either very trendy, or completely sad.

Funnily enough besides MN I don't do SM so I had no idea I was coming into fashion Grin

I look forward to Chris Whitty addressing this at the next Covid briefing Grin

I have pampas in my front garden.Planted by pervious owners and been there since the 1960s.Im not going to uproot a huge beautiful plant. It's a plant not something fashionable.

Morgan12 · 27/03/2021 07:18

No she means inside the home.

Tbh I'm surprised nobody has hacked your plant while you slept.

I seen 6 stalks of pampas on etsy for £100!

FindingMeno · 27/03/2021 07:23

I love pampas!
I had one in my last front garden for years.
Deliberately planted it to get the neighbours gossiping Wink

'Karate chopping cushions can piss right off aswell' Grin

I'm with you there!

ShadierThanaPalmTree · 27/03/2021 07:27

I've never heard of it before this thread (although I wasn't alive in the 70s so) just googled it, I think it looks quite pretty actually, like a fluffy plant. Might have to get some!

Anyscrapiron · 27/03/2021 07:29

I'm off to Google karate chopping cushions?

I'm seriously thinking about where to put a pampas grass now...

TroysMammy · 27/03/2021 07:32

I've got a scar on my little finger from Pampas grass, it's lethal stuff. Years ago I read a tip that to use the fluffy bits for decoration use hairspray so they don't shed.

tilder · 27/03/2021 07:39

@SaskiaRembrandt thank you. That would be brilliant.

rawlikesushi · 27/03/2021 07:42

Pampas grass, rattan, velvet furniture. It seems the 70s are fashionable again, which is quite hard to bear when you knew it was shit the first time you experienced it.

Highforareason · 27/03/2021 07:53

I dont karate chop my cushions, I sort of give them a 'waist' if that makes any sense!

I love pampas reminds me of my grans house just looked at the price Shock

Notjustanymum · 27/03/2021 08:37

It wasn’t invented in the 70’s OP😂
You’ll need two plants to indicate a swingers house though!

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 27/03/2021 08:52

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be though.

Wow! I'm surprised people having been nicking it.

Influence on Instagram. If one sheep does it the others follow.
