I had an interview earlier this week and when the interviewer asked about my transport situation I said (truthfully) that I have transport.
What I didn't mention is that my license has recently expired (CBT) and because of lockdown I have been unable to re take it yet. I have it booked for end of next week so after that I'll have the transport back. I didn't think it was necessary to go into detail about that yet as I didn't expect them to get back to me so quickly, if at all and I thought by the time I did hear back it wouldn't be an issue.
I've now been offered a job trial early next week which starts at 6am. Too early for the bus. When he said it I sort of panicked and said that's fine but now I have to figure out how to get there without any transport. It's too far for me to walk and I don't have a bicycle. I can't get a taxi as it's VERY expensive (£20-£25) and I just don't have the money.
My options are:
Ask a friend for a lift. I feel bad doing this but it's by far the easier option. I would 100% understand if they didn't want to.
Phone back and explain the situation and ask if I can come in a bit later. Absolutely earliest I could get there on the bus would be 7:30am.
I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do? I obviously want to make a good impression but that time makes it very awkward!
