Relocating as single parent

I’ve become to realise how lonely I am as a single mum. I haven’t much family and I’ve lost my career and lost contact with friends over the last year of lockdown. I feel so trapped and sad and lonely, Would a change of scene help even for a while. I have two children to consider, has anyone got any advice or experience? I’m Scotland and would consider other areas of uk or abroad. I could hopefully get a job with the skills I have or move my part time business. Or should I try build a different life here? It’s a small town I live with not many opportunities

The obvious question is do the kids see their dad? If so, and he is regularly involved, do think very carefully. I live a long way from my ex and its expensive, tiresome and difficult for all involved. There might be v good reasons which offsets those things but without that info, any advice is pointless.

Where is your family and support netweok.

We don’t have any family involvement, I have one bereaved parent and my other parent lives locally. only one of the children has maintained a relationship with their dad. I don’t have any contact with him. It just feels like the kids are all i have.

How old are the kids and how like are they to want to see him? It sounds like you are looking for greener grass but are very vague.

When you say you have lost contact with your friends OP in what way? Can you not give them a ring?
