In Tesco this morning doing a food shop - went down the electricals aisle and there were some great reductions (75% off ish) on headphones so picked up three pairs.
At the till two pairs went through at the price shown fine but one only showed up at the wrong price - said £15 instead of the £8 stated on the rack.
I told the assistant that they had come up at the wrong price and she was adamant they were £15 so I said I'm more than happy to show you where I got them from, and said if they aren't priced correctly then at least you can amend them. I know shops aren't obliged to sell to you even if priced wrong.
Anyway we go to the aisle where I got them and I showed her - the racks the headphones are on are security ones - you have to slowly twist the arms to get the headphones to release - obviously designed so not easy to steal. It also means it's impossible to put them back on so I couldn't have put the headphones on a different hanger.
This shop assistant was so grumpy with me - all but implying i was tricking them. Kept saying that they were already half price, that £15 was their actual price down from £30 but she'd have to put them through at £8 now. She made me feel really bad. I said to her when we were back at the checkout I genuinely thought that was their price as that was on rack and it's not my fault if they're priced wrong. She harumphed her way through my transaction , I asked if she could take off the security tags twice and she ignored me and I ended up holding up people trying to get her attention to remove the tags and she gave a massive sigh when she finally did it.
I'm not really a complainer but can't see what I did wrong or what merited her being so arsey with me. I shop in this store all the time so don't want to be singled out as a difficult customer!
