AIBU?

To be surprised that size 16 joggers are a little big.

So I struggle with my weight. In recent years my BMI has fluctuated between 29 and over 40.
I am not in denial. I can see the excess weight and loose skin from losing and regaining the weight. As I am only 5ft it is obvious. I am normally very active but due to injury and struggling with issues during lockdown with SEN and poor mental health dc my weight is now almost back into morbidly obese. BMI 39 but is now stabilising so I know that with a bit more effort I can get back down. My mental health is improving too as I can now get back to exercise and one child is back in therapy abd the other is back in school.
So back to the item of clothing. This was purchased from New Look so not exactly a shop known for generous sizing. I ordered them thinking that there is no way they will fit but actually I can almost feel them falling down around the waist as I walk.
AIBU to think this is weird.

Am I being unreasonable?

Added to which, joggers are comfy wear and designed to be worn loose so generally always come up large I find

I get they are designed to be comfy too.Although I didn't expect to have to keep pulling them up as I walk loose.

BMI of 39, yes that’s strange! Mine was 33 prepregnancy and I was 16/18

That’s why they have a drawstring.

5ft 4 with a BMI of 26 and a size 14. Some of my clothes are a 16 from post pregnancy and they don't look stupidly big. So yes, that's surprising.

Read the reviews
Others may also say they come up big

New look is generous
Joggers are designed to be worn loose and generally come up large
And this design may just not be true to sizing

I wouldn’t give it another thought. No mystery

Maybe they were incorrectly labelled.
I am short, size 18 on top and slightly smaller on bottom.
I have jeans that fit me in size 14 and have tried on 18s that felt snug.
Women's sizing is terrible.
