The cat burglary

Well sort of.
Neighbours cat keeps breaking into ours and spraying urine everywhere. It's gross and needs to stop. So we locked the cat flap.
It barged through and broke the locking mechanism..

Do I speak to Neighbours? Idk what to even say, but the entire downstairs stinks of cat pee and I can't find the source today 😫

Why would you NOT speak to the neighbours? 🤔

Petrifiedcat · 21/03/2021 07:24

How to say "your cat is a miniature little piss dragon that is so determined to get in that he broke the cat flap" but more politely though?

Tell them if they don’t get him castrated you’ll do it yourself. With two bricks.

GingerNinjer · 21/03/2021 07:31

“Your cat broke our cat flap and is causing damage in our house. Can you do something to stop this please?”

Or you could put a note in it’s collar saying “I’m really pissing off our neighbours, help me before they do something terrible to me!”

I’m not a cat person (or a people person)

Owners of unneutered toms piss me right off. Our female has been intimidated by one such fucker for over a year now.
You must speak to the neighbours. If you want an opening gambit, ask them "hiya, was just wondering if your cat's been neutered (although it definitely sounds like he hasn't!). He's being a bit of a dick right now, but if he's getting the chop soon then I know that'll probably calm down and he won't be like that forever."
If they say they have no plans to do it, feel free to give them a look which makes it clear they're twats. Point out that if he continues to behave the way he does you might need to take drastic measures to protect your household, and then leave them wondering what those measures might be!

We had similar, Op. We got a catflap where it recognises the cat's chip, not a collar one, and haven't had a problem since.

Not sure what you would say to the neighbour though, a lot of cats are bastards in general and short of keeping them in, there's not a lot else an owner can do.

Video the cat entering and damaging your home so they can't say it must be your cat.

Invoice them for carpet cleaning.

Is your cat spayed? Just wondering if their cat is being a dick or if he's trying to get at yours?

This is why we got rid of the cat flap. We always ended up with other people’s cats barging in and it was a PITA.
