To seek an ADHD assessment- and ask if you have any recommendations?

I am fairly sure that I have ADHD; I have very significant issues with my ability to pay attention/focus; with irritability (a symptom), with organizing myself to do anything that involves focused attention etc. These issues, combined with other health issues have had a big impact on my life.

I would really like to be assessed for ADHD but I've heard that the waiting list for an assessment on the NHS is 12-24 months.

Does anyone know whether 'The ADHD centre' or 'Psychiatry-UK' are any good?

Now my son is over 18 paediatrics won't see him so he goes to this clinic

The price list is on their website

I was recently diagnosed by ADHD 360 but it's not cheap, I was fortunate that my parents paid half.
Having a diagnosis and starting medication has made a massive difference though. One thing to consider is that if you go private you need to pay for your medication while they get the dose right - it was about £100 a month and took me about 4 months to get to the correct dose.

Thanks Beetlebum and @butmumineedit yes it does seem a bit expensive but very comprehensive. If you don't mind answering- which medication are you on? Did you have any side effects?

@Cherryblossom7 I'm on Elvanse. It took a bit to get the dosage correct - I'm on 40mg but when I went up to 50mg i felt like my mind was working way too fast! It also gave me heart palpitations and I felt quite nauseous. The initial positive side effect was that it can suppress your appetite, unfortunately that seems to be wearing off 🤣
