They have a really good returns policy, has anyone got any experience of Emma mattresses! They seem to get fairly good reviews!

We got a foam one recently and it's like lying on a cloud Grin if one of us moves the other is completely unaware which was very weird at first!

Ours was very uneven and flat at first, half of it looked like it was never going to plump up properly but we left it for 4 hours and came back to a mattress about 3x bigger than we thought it was!

@twinkie01 similar here. We have a Tempur mattress and bought an Emma mattress for the spare room. Pleasantly surprised when we tried it out. Check out the John Lewis website as it was clear that you can order a topper if you find the mattress too hard, this wasn't as obvious from the Emma website.

We got an Emma; we returned it. We both woke up unrested and with sore hips! After a hot night of climbing out of the moulds we'd made...

Don't do it. We got ours with money off and it gave me backache and made me paranoid I was in the menopause with night sweats! We got rid of it last week best decision ever.

We got one (on a similar offer) and it's wonderful. Worried it was a bit firm but took a few days to get used to it. Love it and love the zip off top cover. Highly recommend.

We got single Emmas for the DCs last year and liked them so much we’ve just bought a kingsize one for us. So far we both love it, it’s medium firm and really comfy. DH sleeps on his back, me on my side or front and all sleeping positions are fine.

Only annoying thing is that I just can’t find a bloody fitted sheet to fit these mattresses properly. Normal ones don’t stretch over it properly and deep ones are too big.

ChequerBoard · 18/03/2021 20:34

I bought two single Emma mattresses for the older teen DC and they both love them.

They were so good that I've also bought a double one for the spare room which DH and I have been sleeping in for the past month whilst we have building work done on our en-suite and bedroom. It is really comfortable , so much so that I'm not missing our own bed which is a super expensive ViSpring Divan.

Watching with interest. I am confused about which is firmer the original or the hybrid? Those who are happy with it do you have the original or hybrid?

Minimamame · 18/03/2021 20:39

We bought an Emma last year and we both love it. I used to wake several times at night with dh moving around...no I don’t feel a thing!!! I’d highly recommend it 👍

We brought one and love it. We have the regular which is firm.
They have a good trial period so should be easy to return.
One of my colleagues who also ordered had a phone cal conversation with them before ordering hers and she was told that they would offer her a topper free of charge to make it firmer if it was too soft, she ordered the hybrid which is the softer mattress. She hasn’t needed it though.

They are very firm, but if too firm and you contact them they will send you a free mattress topper to see if that fixes it

reallyisthisallthereis · 18/03/2021 20:48

My dd has an Emma mattress and it's very comfy but she's quite light !
We had to have a mattress in a box as she's in the attic and normal double mattress would be difficult to get up stairs, so very pleased with it .

gildalilly · 18/03/2021 20:54

We had one and sent it back as the sides sloped. I kept waking up feeling as though I was falling out of bed. Slept awfully on it. Ended up getting a traditional spring mattress and that's miles better.

ChequerBoard · 18/03/2021 20:56

Ours are all the Emma Original mattresses.

coldsandinsleepingbags · 18/03/2021 21:07

We got an Emma and it gave me backache after just a couple of nights. Stuck with it a while as had read that sometimes adjustment period is needed but ultimately ended up returning it (which was very straight forward). Also found it very hot. Got a Simba hybrid next and absolutely love it. Mattresses are such personal things in my experience so definitely worth a try given how easy it is to return.
