They have a really good returns policy, has anyone got any experience of Emma mattresses! They seem to get fairly good reviews!

We’ve got one, it’s very comfortable and good for bad back, but can be a bit hot (I think that’s common with memory foam)

swampytiggaa · 18/03/2021 14:23

I bought an Eve without trying it. Have a hybrid one and love it

Youmeanyouvelostyourkey · 18/03/2021 14:24

We tried one without trying it and absolutely love it. It made us realise how overdue we were for a new mattress. They do have a good returns policy although we haven't needed to use it. Only thing I would say is that we didn't like the pillows so kept our existing ones (also memory foam). there was nothing wrong with them, we just preferred our old ones. The kids have them now and love them.

I've always bought mattresses without trying first personally.
My parents just told me they are getting some Emma mattresses for their new house. They're very picky and research a lot to get the best of everything. I think it was a Which recommendation. On that basis I'd say go for it!

I got one in December. Gave me and DP backache. Sent it back in Jan and got a refund. Website says 2 weeks for refund and I did have to email them after that but they replied immediately and money was returned with a week. So 3 weeks in total waiting.

MrsPatrickDempsey · 18/03/2021 14:32

Sorry - we ordered one before Christmas and had to return it. They are very firm (not too much of a problem) but ours never inflated evenly and sloped. I realise this probably isn't indicative of the mattresses in general but I think it was a result of it being in a box. It was a pain to return and I had to push for a refund which wasn't issued automatically. I think we were unlucky.

Iwantafuckingbreak · 18/03/2021 14:35

I've got one, I hate it. I ache so bad every morning. I didnt send it back though because I'm lazy.

FizzyPink · 18/03/2021 14:37

I asked on here about mattresses recently and was warned not to buy one of these new mattress in a box types.
Instead we have a Sleepeezee and it’s the most incredible mattress I’ve ever slept on

Iusedtobecarmen · 18/03/2021 14:42

I did! Watched the shopping channel obsessively prior ,and that convinced me.
Absolutely love it .
Had it about 2 mths and still get excited about getting into bed. Grin Its pure bliss.

LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 18/03/2021 14:44

We have one and really like it. I don't like the pillow though.

Twinkie01 · 18/03/2021 14:44

We got one for DD without trying it and it's no er than our Tempur one which was £££ more.

Twinkie01 · 18/03/2021 14:44

NICER

inisfree · 18/03/2021 14:46

I got one at Christmas and I love it. Excellent company to deal with too.

Walkerby · 18/03/2021 14:58

We had one and it was so firm my hips hurt every time I lay on my side (and I’m a very average weight). It was like sleeping on a slab of concrete fir us, my OH ended up sleeping on the floor as he said it was more comfortable! We got a refund without a problem.

YorkshireTerror · 18/03/2021 15:02

I’ve had mine just over a year and like it. It’s keeping its shape unlike the hybrid one I got from John Lewis that developed a big dent after a few months. It doesn’t help all my aches and pains but it’s comfy enough and better then my JL ones by far.

VikingNorthUtsire · 18/03/2021 15:02

We like ours - both like a firm mattress and they're great for not moving if one of you gets out of bed during the night etc. It is a bit hot though, shorty PJs will be in action all year round.

bingoitsadingo · 18/03/2021 15:03

I bought one six months ago, I love it. I think it's on the softer side of firm, my last mattress was "medium-firm" and this is much softer.

TwoBreakingIntoOne · 18/03/2021 15:07

I have a casper and an otty. I tried an Emma and it was thinner and softer than the others so I sent it back and got another otty

Skyliner001 · 18/03/2021 15:23

Thanks so much for all this feedback, there is a 42% off offer on at the moment, which is why I'm considering it

YorkshireTerror · 18/03/2021 18:45

Just to say I don’t find it firm at all. In fact it’s softer than I thought it would be but it’s still provides good Support. Im about 10 Stones and sleep on my own so can’t vouch for what it’s like with two on it.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 18/03/2021 18:53

Theoretically you are trying ot with the 100 days (they all have it). I bought eve like that. Was sceptical, but offer was good and I kept old mattress just in case for few weeks

Hankunamatata · 18/03/2021 19:21

Def a marmite purchase. We got a pure memory foam one from dreams. It was awful - so hot and my back ached. They swapped it for a pocket sprung with memory foam top which I love (spent 2 hours in store lying on beds pre covid). Kids have ikea memory foam ones that seem comfy enough.

Crunchymum · 18/03/2021 19:26

We got ours a year ago (was a similar deal too so we went for superking size) and its been fabulous.

No complaints at all. Would recommend to anyone.

Thunderpunt · 18/03/2021 19:36

We got one last spring and although incredibly comfortable- it was so hot. I emailed them after a few months to say I was considering sending it back for that reason, so they sent me an insert memory topper thingamajig which goes under the zip off bit at the top (you zip it back up so it's inside the mattress iykwim) free of charge.
It's made the mattress a bit firmer but done the trick for a cooler night sleep - I think previously the memory foam was kind of cocooning us hence the hot nights!
I also think maybe it's because we still haven't got a new bed base, so it's sitting on a divan base. I suspect on a slatted bed frame the air would circulate better and we might. It have had the problem (plus it was a very warm spring/summer last year.....oh and probably the menopause kicking in Grin)

Hidinge · 18/03/2021 19:47

I got one recently. Takes several hours to inflate not the two (iirc) it says in the booklet.
It's ok.
I like a firm mattress. This isn't firm in fact a bit soft for my liking if anything, and I'm not heavy.
Both myself and partner have managed to get in and out of bed without waking the other, which frankly is a miracle. Also my fidgety night didn't disturb him.
He's ok with it but we sleep better apart (we either fidget or cuddle or both. Not the mattress' fault).
Using it on slatted base only found myself too hot once, and that was sharing while wearing my winter layers.
