I had my covid jab recently and suffered v bad side affects. Fever, shaking, general unwell etc.
I was just wondering how common this is?
DH has his jab tomorrow…
Obviously it's a v small price to pay, and I'm grateful to have had it.

Very common - my husband and I had the same side effects (as did many of our friends!). There was a long thread on this subject recently on Mumsnet - you may be able to find it in the search Smile.

Very common. It’s more prevalent if you are younger, female, had covid or it’s your second vaccine. The reaction is the side effect of your immune system response.

It’s very common and it’s nothing to worry about.

I had my vaccination this week and was told at the centre that about 3/10 people will have side effects which is pretty common as side effects go.

Personally I experienced the three that are listed as most common in the bumph they gave me, which was feeling tired, headache and aches. The symptoms started the morning after I had the vaccination and lasted the entire day. I went to bed early and was perfectly fine, in fact feeling very good the following day.

The flu vaccine battered me this winter. Entirely expecting the covid one to do the same...but still having it tomorrow.

Having lost a friend to covid and seeing two other friends suffering with long covid, a few days of feeling awful don't come close to what they've had to deal with.

I was the same.

I felt absolutely shocking after mine last week, and most of the people I know who have had the vaccine felt much the same (just varying levels)

Fortunately the worst of it was over in 24 hours. I then had a couple of days of feeling a bit drained - the usual feeling after not being well - and am now 100% back to normal
