This is good news.
@Dorsetdays that’s a great overview. Clearly fault the side of the protesters too, not just the police. I’d be pretty hacked off if I was a good police officer (which I believe the majority are) - trying to serve the public and being demonised, and risking my own health. I know a police officer who is a Dad who brought home Covid from doing his job. His wife was hospitalised.

@luciestar I agree with every word you say, I’m sorry you’ve been unfairly ribbed.

Vigil - yes
Protest - yes

SquirmOfEels · 18/03/2021 07:39

What is the question?

Is it 'YABU = during a couple of hours on Saturday, a protest took place at a site of commemoration; police warned gave a chance to disperse, only those who did not leave faced police action. Vigils and commemorations which began last Friday and were still continuing yesterday have seen no police intervention

Were you there? Are you local?

Tangogolf55 · 21/03/2021 08:13

Article in the paper today: extinction rebellion plus other groups such as anti vaxxers, BLM, piers corbyn’s cronies, and more were at the protest/vigil the other week and confirmed to be causing trouble. Maybe people jumped on the bandwagon too soon.

If both, then with face coverings and social distancing.

YADNBU!
(Sorry only just seen this - and don't worry the unfair ribbing doesn't phase meGrin)

After last night’s disgraceful behaviour - yes misogyny needs to be address, but I also think there is a huge amount of misandry aimed at the police, when the vast majority are just trying to do their job. If we devalue police officers to the extent that they can’t recruit there is no chance of reclaiming our streets. @LucieStar
