To ask for a refund?

I’m with Vodafone. Due to a mix of tech errors and fixes not being done properly the first time, my phone hasn’t had service since Friday. It won’t resume until Tuesday/Wednesday as they have extended their deadline again.

I ended up buying a (Vodafone) pay as you go SIM card, costing £11. Aibu to ask them to refund the cost of this as I bought it on my own accord?

I need to take/receive calls as part of my job; having zero service meant I needed to source an alternative immediately. It’s also difficult safety-wise not having mobile data, because I can’t book an Uber home if necessary or let alone know where I am when out (I can’t drive)
