Am i entitled to anything?

Hi, I have decided to leave my husband, we have been together 15 years, married 10. We brought a house together 13 years ago, my name was never put on the mortgage as we got a better rate without me on it, was going to add me later but never got round to it. Will I be entitled to anything? Thank you

Surely a solicitor can tell you that information?

TimeForTeaAndG · 15/03/2021 09:24

I'd speak to a solicitor.

If you are married, all assets will be split, whoevers name they are in. So yes you should share house, pensions, other assets

I will be speaking to a solicitor but was just wondering if anyone knew where I would stand

Doesn’t matter whose name is on the property. You’re married, so the presumption is that everything would be split 50/50. That can be adjusted to reflect needs of children and both partners. But the starting point is always 50/50.

Bought. And no-one here can tell you, you need a solicitor. People here will tell you that half everything is yours but its not at all that simple.

Also I'm not really up for a fight so was wondering how easy this would be

We have a joint account which shows I have contributed fairly. Not sure if that helps.
