I've forgotten Mother's day

I've forgotten. I always send a lovely card to my mum, my stepmum and another special person. They were bought a while ago ready to send. Feeling awful about this

Get them in the post today (google the last delivery times in your area). Then phone to wish them a happy Mothering Sunday, and explain you forgot to send the cards, but they are in the post now.

If you’re still feeling guilty, order something on line.

But don’t do too much of the sackcloth and ashes. You haven’t done anything terrible, unless you forgot because you were busy torturing kittens, or writing fan mail to Nigel Farage.

No matter how many ltbs people here throw when someone forgets mother's day...🙈

It happens. In real life things happen. We all forget something. I forgot what month it is recently. It just happens. We all forget. And this is really trying time! So it's ok. It happens. The only reason I am not missing most things is my annual 5 reminders for each in google calendar😂

There is this annoying website part of my family uses www.123cards.com/
Better than nothing?😁

When I did this last year, I photographed the card front and then the stamped addressed envelope going into the postbox and emailed those pictures with a Happy Mother's Day message and a 'It's on its way!' cheery message.

I forgot too. Furloughed then WFH since March I've started losing days Blush

Fortunately my mum forgot too Grin

Interflora for Monday. Say they don't deliver on Sundays / or it costs more. One of those is definitely true

I also forgot. I managed to send a gift via Amazon Prime that arrived today and my card will get there early next week. Oh well!

ohhmydododah · 13/03/2021 19:00

Can you drive and drop the cards tomorrow ( mental health trip ?)

I've sent stuff my mum is very happy, but MIL seemed moody we aren't visiting or inviting her over. It's my Mother's Day too and yes it's not allowed. She was saying her plant was squashed I sent. I sent the same thing to my mum and she said it was stunning, beautifully wrapped, so you can't win can you. If left to her DS she wouldn't get a thing.

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 13/03/2021 19:03

I did as well. Phoned to apologise already. It will have to be Mothering Monday this year.

BoyTree · 13/03/2021 19:03

Anything heartfelt should be well received - ecard or similar with a lovely message means the most I think.

If you want a giggle 😁
I remember usually the British one on the day, because I am here so I call mum.
"Happy Mother's day!"
"What"
"Yeah! It's mother's day!"
"No it isn't, are you ok?"
"Mum, it's here in UK"
"Ah. Ok. Thanks I guess?"

EXACTLY the same conversation every year for a decade! And then I forget hers one in MAY😂
