The world is full of ugly cushions. Help me find the needle in the haystack!

I'm looking for cushions for this Made Ritchie plum sofa, and must have scrolled through thousands today. I've tried John Lewis, M&S, Next, Etsy, Wayfair, and haven't found anything that would complement the colour without being plug-ugly. Help me out here! Where else can I look?

Navy tartan ones would look lovely.

Or even some very pale pink floral ones.

I feel your pain! I had to look for some recently and really struggled, but I found that the ones at Zara Home/H&M/ Habitat were quite nice and Dunelm and La Redoute had a couple of acceptable ones. You could also look at Trouva if independent boutiques are your thing.

I would choose peacock cushions. Teal goes great with purple.

Bubbles1st · 07/03/2021 22:29

What would your preferred /colour style be? Do you want them to velvet too?

Minimonkeysmum · 07/03/2021 22:31

Pricey but gorgeous options here: www.bluebellgray.com/living/cushions.html

Depends how much you’re willing to spend. Emma Shipley cushions would look lovely, but they’re £££. Alternatively, H&M had some nice velvet cushions in jewel tones that would look great against that colour.

PersonaNonGarter · 07/03/2021 22:39

Some of these OKA cushions are lovely

I'd say anything Navy or Teal would go with that sofa. Either of those with some gold in it would also look nice.

Agree.

It's so far from my personal style that I can't work out what colour or style cushions would go with it tbh.

I would definitely avoid anything monochrome though.

Have you looked at West Elm? Some of their cushions are nice.

What's the rest of the room like? What sort of patterns do you love or hate?

fairislecable · 07/03/2021 22:43

West elm have some lovely ones: www.westelm.co.uk/crewel-outlined-shapes-pillow-cover-t5956

That sofa needs. Couple of retro round pleated button cushions in. Complementary shade. Have a look at the Holly Willoughby round pleated cushions at Dunelm. They have teal and a blue which would both go well.

Now I've read this, I agree.

? Remove full stops and insert a couple of As. No idea what my fingers were doing!

whatisthislifesofullofcare · 07/03/2021 22:52

I’d say graham and green is your best bet.

I have none but make my own from remnants. Can you sew a straight line OP?
