Customers PayPal payment on hold.

Hi, I’ve just opened up a PayPal business account for my business, did a test order etc - everything was great, although my money is now on hold.

Why?
After googling it, it says customers have to confirm they’ve received the item which is all very well but what if they forget/don’t confirm or lie? Will I lose it altogether?

Not sure but I recently bought something from Lands’ End via PayPal and my PayPal account said payment was pending. I called Lands End and they said it was because they had a delay in processing orders. Payment was subsequently confirmed.

It’s because it’s a new account - they put a delay on a small number of payments right at the start but it doesn’t last long

If they don't confirm you can either show proof yourself with a tracking number or they hold it for x amount of days. I can't remember how many.

I would call it call or message them with any queries. The phone number isn’t the easiest to find but I found them to be helpful once I got through. I’m guessing proof of delivery is what they mean - when the item is delivered most services will provide an electronic confirmation. I’ve never had my money stopped for that reason though.

Great, thank you. I’ll give them a call. I understand that it’s on hold for 21 days! I get that it’s because it’s new but I don’t want to loose thousands of pounds worth of stock because the customer has confirmed it or says they haven’t received it when they have. Seems so daft...

Standard for new PayPal accounts I’m afraid, it’s an anti fraud measure. Make sure you upload the tracking for each item and after a short time, with regular activity, you should start getting payments instantly.
