Would you get this checked?

I know that you should contact your GP rather than consult MN if you're concerned, and I will but trying to reach them at the moment is like trying to get hold of the pope in my area unfortunately.

Basically I've seen what looks like a dark patch of skin forming just outside of the areola on one of my breasts. It looks like a large dark freckle.

I can't feel any lumps but it has got me a bit freaked out as it's definitely not always been there and I have a history of BC in my family on my maternal side, including my grandmother and great grandmother.

Not sure if it's relevant but I am technically young I guess in these terms at 27 but I know age is no guarantee that nothing is up!

Would you get it checked?

Yes.

HollowTalk · 05/03/2021 18:43

Definitely. Any changes like that should be shown to a doctor.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 05/03/2021 18:44

yes. definitely
Even if things are slow in your area, the sooner you make moves to get an appointment, the sooner it will happen. Be tenacious.

AfternoonToffee · 05/03/2021 18:44

Please get that checked out as soon as absolutely possible. It is most likely nothing, but it needs to be checked out properly.

Tell them that you are concerned about breast changes and you need seeing urgently.

Kitkat151 · 05/03/2021 18:45

Get it checked asap

ChameleonClara · 05/03/2021 18:47

Yes

FrankieDettol · 05/03/2021 18:49

Yes. I had something similar very recently and was seen quickly, referred and reassured all within 2 weeks.

FreeAt50 · 05/03/2021 18:59

Yes. Explain when you call and they should prioritise you. And it's never ever a problem to get things checked that end up being nothing. No HCP would ever tell you any different

letsgoandtango · 06/03/2021 19:01

Yes. It's probably fine but get any skin changes like that checked. I did similar with a mole recently that I swore had grown. They rushed me through quickly and it was a big relief to find out all was ok. You'll just worry about it otherwise.

ViciousJackdaw · 06/03/2021 19:09

It's almost certainly going to be OK but doctors do tend to say that you should see them if you have any breast changes. Please make an appointment on Monday morning. Bollocks to Covid, breast changes are really important.
