White Walls vs woodwork

Is this madness to contemplate?

Looking for bright white for my house, don’t want it blending the woodwork so am thinking to paint walls and ceiling white and do the woodwork in a different colour something neutral.
Is this a genius idea or completely daft?
YABU: woodwork should always be white
YANBU: go for it!

Coloured woodwork is a current trend- loads of ideas on insta and Pinterest 👍

The ‘80s trend for painting the woodwork to match or tone with your (non-white) walls has just been redecorated in my house. The now white-again woodwork looks great, but I couldn’t imagine it all being the same colour, so in this case I think a different neutral colour would look good. Nothing too dark though, as you may want to revert in a few years time!
