Feels like a mass in my stomach

Whenever I eat a substantial meal I get a really uncomfortable sensation under my left rib, it feels like something is in there and perhaps it's getting squashed when I eat so I notice it more. When I touch the area I can't feel anything per se but the area does hurt and feel tender when pressed. It is relieved when I lie on my left hand side and when standing but when I sit or lay on my back I can feel it. Sometimes it is there in the morning as well. I can only describe it as a burning/tingling/tight uncomfortableness which I am very aware of.

This has been going on for months and I am healthy otherwise so not overly worried except it's a bit of an annoyance. I have had blood tests and heart scans recently (something unrelated) and not losing weight or feeling unwell.

But just wondered if anyone had any experience of this and any idea what it could be?

I do understand anything said on this post is to be taken with a pinch of salt and not to take medical advice from mumsnet but just thought I'd chance my luck to see if anyone had experienced similar as no one I know has.

Thanks

I think you know that even if someone had the exact same symptoms as you it could have a different cause. You really need to speak to your GP.

Agree with pp, speak to GP.
However, if it helps, sounds a lot like when I had gastritis/suspected ulcer.

Yes I will contact the doctor. Just hoping it is gastritis. As I'm feeling well otherwise I'm not overly concerned. Just more curious to what it could be.
