Is it a problem that I haven’t signed my job contract?

I work for a local authority, I started 18 months ago. When they sent me my contract I didn’t sign it right away as I queried the holiday entitlement. It took months and months to sort out, in the end they agreed and I can see my holiday entitlement has been changed because it’s on the electronic system and I have booked it off, so there’s no problem any more.

But they never sent me an amended contract to sign. I don’t really want to ask for the contract now, I feel it’s been too long and looks a bit strange to ask now. But is there any reason why I need to push to actually sign it? Could it cause me problems down the line in any way?

Where I work, if you don’t sign but continue to work then you have accepted the t&cs

Not sure, but I would just manually alter, sign and return.

If you've continued to be paid, you're deemed to have accepted it.

I’ve worked for the same company for 23 years, I get an amended contract every year because of wage increases and I rarely sign it Blush
My boss hands it to me to read and I end up forgetting to give it back. I’ve signed maybe half of them in all the time I’ve worked for them.

You have a contract but it's not in writing. No harm in mentioning to your line manager/hr that you don't have an up to date copy of your contract and ask them to provide it.

Doesn't matter, have worked for public body and when my job changed a few years back there was no contract, a few of us raised this with union who said as we were doing the job and getting paid for it, the contract did not matter

Great! Thanks for putting my mind at rest!
