I wish we could have one. It would be so helpful to have a place to look. Chronic pain has so many causes and to find a thread or even a website that can give support is really hard. @Becca19962014 I have PMd you with a question

Becca19962014 · 01/03/2021 15:10

I've answered just now, hoping it helps!

doadeer · 01/03/2021 17:41

I would really like a board.

I have fused, degenerative and damaged facet joints as a result of a pregnancy from hell where my pelvic pain meant I couldn't walk. I'm young to have this condition, usually affects 60+ and I'm 30

I've had two MRIs, a year of physio, countless osteopaths, two rounds of 9 facet joint injections and also injections into my glutes.

I have felt a big improvement recently, but I'm coming to terms with the fact that it will never be cured, I will always have pain throughout the day and have to be careful with activities and rest, easier said than done when you have a toddler with additional needs.

Ha that’s the one I’m already on Can we have a chronic pain board Grin

MedusasBadHairDay · 02/03/2021 17:31

I have just come off the phone with my RA consultant. My current biologic meds are finally starting to reduce my inflammation, which is ace news. But my pain in my knees left hip and right arm are just totally uncontrolled. He has referred me for replacements in my knees and hip and I have an app next week with an elbow and shoulder surgeon regarding my arm! I am so happy. I know this is a weird thing to be happy about at 30, but I just know mt life would be greatly improved. I have already had my right hip done and that was a blessing!

That's great news, congratulations!
Akire · 02/03/2021 19:12

That is great news, few and far between!

Navilana · 02/03/2021 19:19

Congrats LST! Hope you can have the replacements soon, very happy for you Smile

LST · 02/03/2021 19:20

I know. I started crying on the phone and he was so lovely. I know how lucky I am to have a consultant as good as him. He's been my consultant since I was diagnosed just after my 16th Birthday

Ouchwtfthistime · 02/03/2021 19:34

That's fantastic news, and I'm so pleased about the continuity of care that you've had with your consultant, that's very enviable! I do still keep reading your name as LSD though 🤣

Bloody wonderful news. What a great team you have and well needed.

So pleased to hear your news xx

LST · 02/03/2021 20:44

Thank you so much! I was beaming when dp got in from work. I do realise how lucky I am to have the same consultant for so long. He is brilliant. I might write him and the team a lovely thank you.

doadeer · 02/03/2021 21:57

I'm really low today, just been having a little cry. I've had 4 weeks of relief after latest round of steroid injections and today I can feel the start of the pain coming back, shooting sensations down my legs and the familiar stiffness, pain and aches in my back. In a couple days I'll be back on full dosage coedine.

I've been doing physio exercise every day, 2x hard PT sessions a week, weekly osteopath, no alcohol, healthy food... I'm so frustrated.

I have a toddler with additional needs and I can't bear to go back to trying to hold back the tears so I can sit and play with him.

Call with consultant tomorrow to see if there are other options for me.

Akire · 02/03/2021 22:15

Sorry to hear that, sometimes the dread of pain can be just as bad. Is this going be start of something , is something playing up again etc. Xx

Loushome · 02/03/2021 22:35

@MNHQ
TWICE now, under different usernames, I also have started a thread asking for a chronic pain area. I have fibromyalgia, Sjogrëns syndrome and Ankylosing Spondylitis, as well as Costochondritis and tendonitis.

On both occasions, you have told me you will look into this, subject to the feedback on my posts. The feedback was positive and encouraging ...you saw how it went yet still, even now with @Ouchwtfthistime‘s thread, you still seem pretty intent on not setting one up.

WHY??

Loushome · 02/03/2021 22:38

Oh....& osteoarthritis!

Akire · 02/03/2021 22:56

How long ago was this @loushome ?

Akire · 02/03/2021 23:02
