To ask for help unblocking a number

Posting for traffic as I'm at my wits end!

I'm missing so many important NHS phone calls as they call on 0800 numbers. For some reason my phone won't let them through. At their end it just rings out and at my end my phone doesn't ring at all. It's infuriating!

My mobile provider said they haven't blocked anything and, in fact, they don't even have the ability to block incoming calls!

I can't find anything helpful online. Surely I'm not the first person this has happened to Confused

What type of phone do you have?

Hi,

Thanks. It's an iPhone 7. I do block numbers that come through from cold callers about nonsense like PPI and "recent car accidents" so when I go into settings I can see a list of blocked numbers but none are 0800 numbers.

GPs here phone from withheld numbers. Check if your settings are set to ‘silence unknown callers’

Damn! I thought you had it there. But no, it's not set to silence unknown callers. I've toggled it on and off again in some vain hope that will help Sad

I’m not sure if this will help OP (but hopefully it will 😉) if you follow this link it’ll take you to the Apple support page where they have a few suggestions that’s may be worth a try if you haven’t tried them already 😌 failing that a friend had this same problem but it was 0800 numbers in general for them (not specifically the NHS) & they took their phone into an O2 shop (that was the network they was with) & they found it was a problem with the SIM card itself & changed it so that also may be worth a try for you too? 😌 anyway here’s the link & I hope you can get it sorted soon it must be very frustrating 😞 x... support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204027

Back up your phone and reset back to default settings.
