This is going to sound really random but does anyone know if you can block someone from putting money into your bank account?? I don’t want to close my account and start again so does anyone know if you can just block a certain account? Haven’t got round to calling the bank yet so though I would ask on here if it’s even possible .

No you can't

Might be easier to know if understood the motivation for blocking just one other account. I suspect they could in some circumstances but not in others.

Cocopogo · 21/02/2021 23:34

If you don’t want it you can just give it to me.
Hope that helps Grin

No, we looked into this and it wasn’t possible.

Happycat1212 · 21/02/2021 23:39

Didn’t think so! Annoying, thanks anyway

No. But I'd guess you can transfer it back with a phone call. Transferring your account isn't that hard these days. Just remember to update your account at places online you shop regularly at. Utility providers can also be updated in a 2min online account edit. My list of places to edit my details was about 9 or 10, I did a few a day ,job done.

I have no ID so can’t open a new account. Passport expired.

Could you open a different account within your same bank as they already have your ID confirmed?

Happycat1212 · 22/02/2021 01:18

I doubt it, when I’ve lost my bank card and tried to get money out of my account they wouldn’t let me because no ID. Wouldn’t even look at my passport, so think that would be difficult. Just going to have to transfer it back I think. Just wanted a more permanent option.
