Football in the street?

Do you think it is ok for 13/14 year olds to play football on the street? Street is quiet for traffic but it's terraced houses with no drives so both sides are lined with parked cars. The houses have 80ft gardens and it is less than 10 minutes walk to the park. I wouldn't allow my kids to do it but maybe a plastic football is not going to do any damage if it hits a car or window?

YANBU... streets are for cars/pedestrians.

They have gardens, there are parks for such activities, they should not be mixing with others anyway if in the UK and the noise of a plastic football boinging off cars/walls/windows is frigging irritating, as is the yelling that goes with it.

No.

I would be so fucked off if a football, leather/plastic/foam, hit my car. It’s a massive disrespect to people’s belongings.

So no. Absolutely not.

ShalomToYouJackie · 21/02/2021 16:43

Nope

Mellonsprite · 21/02/2021 16:48

No, they are too old at that age. It’s best kept in a park away from windows etc.

Obviouspretzel · 21/02/2021 16:52

I wouldn't care as long as you didn't damage my shit.

peak2021 · 21/02/2021 16:52

Not if it is a through street or terraced as the OP mentions, maybe if a cul-de-sac with houses that have drives.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 21/02/2021 17:30

No, that’s what gardens and parks are for. Dislike children playing in the streets in general though.

Lynora · 21/02/2021 17:33

Wouldn't bother me. I like to see kids playing in the street though.

strawberrypip · 21/02/2021 17:57

nah, wouldnt appreciate kids playing with a ball near my car. go to the park or someones garden.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 21/02/2021 17:57

Depends if the balls keep hitting cars as if they will pay for damage of caused . Personally I wouldn't let mine at that age but they would go to a park for more space and to pay properly anyway .
